DEKA DESIGN LTD:
CARE + MAINTENANCE

To help you get the most out of your DEKA product, we recommend you follow the care and maintenance advice below.

Each material has its own characteristics, and proper care will help preserve both appearance and performance over time.

Please note: All products are designed for indoor use and should not be exposed to outdoor conditions. Where natural materials are used, variations in surface tone and texture are to be expected – these are part of the material's character.

We recommend periodically checking and tightening any exposed fixings. If you have any specific questions, our team are happy to help at support@ deka-design.com.

• POWDER COATED STEEL
Wipe gently with a damp cloth and warm water. Dry the surface after cleaning to avoid streaks. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or sharp tools to protect the coating.

• STAINLESS STEEL
Clean regularly with a soft cloth and warm, soapy water. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots. Avoid using steel wool, abrasive pads, or harsh cleaners, as these may scratch the surface.

To maintain the finish, use a stainless steel cleaner if needed, always follow the grain of the metal when cleaning.

• GLASS
Use a standard glass cleaner and microfibre cloth to remove smudges or stains. Avoid acidic or alkaline cleaners, and never use sharp tools or abrasive pads as these can scratch the glass.

• VENEER SEAT + BACKRESTS

Clean with a soft cloth and warm water. Avoid detergents or polishes — these may damage the natural finish. Each veneer is unique. Subtle grain and colour variation is natural and not a defect.

• FORBO LINOLEUM

Clean with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals to preserve the natural surface texture. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or sharp tools to protect the coating.

• LAMINATE

Dust regularly using a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a cloth dampened with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Avoid placing sharp or abrasive items directly on the surface — use coasters or trivets under decorative items.

MARBLE

Sealed for protection, but still porous – always clean spills immediately with a damp cloth. Re-sealing the marble is recommended periodically depending on how the product is used, using a stone specific sealing product. Avoid placing sharp or abrasive items directly onto the surface and use trivets or coasters under decorative items.

Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners, which may cause permanent damage. Over time, marble will develop a natural patina – this is a feature, not a flaw.

FABRIC

Keep upholstery away from direct heat and sunlight. Do not use solvents or chemical-based cleaners. For commercial fabrics, refer to the manufacturer’s website for detailed instructions.
